[ S437 ] English Officers Backsword circa 1680

Description

English Officers Backsword circa 1680. This old war horse needs some TLC .
Very typical of the period, plain hard wood grip with no wire etc. Blade length 32 inches & is a good solid old blade.
It does show quite a bit of wear on the blade ,but its still solid & strong.
The guard etc is all loose due to the pommel nut being flogged out, the tang peening has pulled through the pommel end. way easier to show images than describe it.
It wouldn't be too hard to peen it back over ,it may need a bit of metal added but if you did that its no longer original, I don't fix or modify anything I sell, its all sold exactly how I buy it.
This sword cost me a hell of lot more than I am offering it for , when I bought it the damage to the peening was not shown nor mentioned, it had a chunk of glue on it which I removed.
Price-$1800 ( the sword owes me $3500 from a deal i done some time ago so i am taking a big hit on it)
