Original 1917 Dutch poster no 113Product Code [ M1712 ]
Poster shows caricature of Dutch agricultural minister Folkert and two other gentlemen playing cards. Visible in Posthuma's hands are cards labeled "Rijks Bruinbrood" and "Rijks Wittebrood" [government ration cards for brown and white bread]. A gentleman smoking a cigar holds cards labeled "1000 Gulden". Another man wearing a patched shirt has cards labeled "Bank Anleehing" [Bank bonds]. Additional caption title reads: "De O.W.'er: Goed. Ik speel groot slem! De arbeider: Ik speel nullo ..." [The O.W.er: Good. I play grand slam. The worker: I play nothing].
