ww2 Japanese officers sword Gunto mounts antique family blade, sword is as found, hamon seen both sides, not much grain to be seen but that's just due to the polish, one tiny chip on the edge, image of the chip showing both sides of it on the blade, at the worst side of the chip its almost 2mm wide, so very small but in the blown up image above it looks huge, sword would come up very nice with a polish, unsigned & ubu with just 1 mekugi hole in the tang.
cutting edge measures 66.2cm (26.06 in)
Timber scabbard with nice leather combat cover, it has shrunk away from the top by around 30 mm or so as seen in pics, Nice handle binding & good old same.
Its a reasonable enough sword & as always my images make the sword look worse then it is, & the blade was not wiped clean before I took the pics.
