Rare Double edge (kogarasu maru style ) Samurai katana superb blade in full polish with koshirae a very Fine blade in superb quality polish.Blade is in the same condition both sides with impressive work throughout the entire blade.

Mei- Soju Kanemasa Meiji 23 nen gatsu ( Kanemasa made this march 1890)

Blade length-67 cm (26.3 in)

Sori- 1.0 cm - 0.39 in

Width at hamachi- 2.4cm - 0.94 in

width at Kissaki- 1.82 cm - 0.71 in

Thickness at hamachi - 0.62 -0.24 inch

Era- Meiji

Shape- kogarasu maru style ( like the famous Little crow tachi)

Jitetsu- well grained small itame hada with Jinie & chikei work. very fine pretty blade

Hamon- Suguha

Smith details- Born in Tokyo & made swords at Ouji in Tokyo.

Quality signed pierced iron Tsuba with gold inlay.
Matching fuchi kashira of Samurai & mount Fuji,
the menuki are superb works of art depicting samurai on horse back,
High quality string binding (ge aburra "I can never spell it correctly" ) .
Beautiful quality silver habaki.
Black lacquered scabbard ,
All are in beautiful condition, everything about this sword is of the highest quality, the sword polish is Mukansa grade or equal to Mukansa polish.
