lovely old polearm,its called a "GLEFE". its a north Italian style weapon
and used mainly as a garde-weapon from the emperors from Venice or Mantua (south Tyrol), it appears that the shaft would have once been covered in material but its since deteriorated and has come off,the blade has beautiful etchings of foliage and a mythical type animal,even with the material missing from the shaft with a tidy up it can be a real nice piece that displays beautifully,the head of the weapon is 26 inches long x 4.5 inch wide at widest point,the overall length is 78 inches,
