British 1887 mk3 factory in service shortened bayonet, I had Ian Skennerton have a look at this bayonet on the 16/3/ 24 , he informed me these were all reissued to Indian troops, they were all factory shortened in service, he referred me to the commonwealth bayonet book w number I40 in his book, Ian said this example is slightly shorter than the onein his book but it has been 100% shortened for Indian troops, the shortening was done in service by the armourers.
