[ s517 ] Japanese Samurai sword Katana with very nice koshirae

Description

Japanese Katana with very nice koshirae as per the images, the Iron tsuba is superb, it depicts a Samurai warrior on horseback & has gold highlights, the matching fuchi kashira is shakudo with nanko back ground , gold highlight of Samurai Abumi / stirrups, war fan , Tachi etc. Shakudo flower menuki with gold highlights.

The fuchi must have been slightly loose as the previous has glued a small piece of paper to the tsuka / handle where the fuchi slides on, nothing at all to worry about but needs to be mentioned.

The blade is flawless, no open grain cracks or flaws of any type but it has been heavily rubbed, there is a small area of pin prick size pits down on the cutting edge but very minor, the hamon can just be seen but little else due to the state of its polish, the sword does need to be polished, there is no mei / signature as per 1/2 the swords i see.
Cutting edge is 68.9 cm with a 19mm sori,

Overall its a nice package for the money, its certainly no national treasure but its not rubbish & does display very nicely
